Moisture is gradually increasing across Eastern North Carolina and that should give much of the area a few showers on Friday. An approaching cold front by late Friday afternoon could bring a few strong to severe thunderstorms. We are not expecting a widespread outbreak of severe weather but as the front pushes into the very warm air a few strong storms will likely develop. Any storm that does develop has the potential to cause some damaging wind gusts, small hail and a possible tornado. Stay tuned to WITN-TV throughout the day for the latest weather information.
