SEOUL, South Korea (AP) -- At least nine people have been
reported dead after a massive wave struck near a South Korean
beach.
Another 14 people are injured, including two in critical
condition.
A Korean Coast Guard officer says the sudden wave slammed over a
breakwater where dozens of people were fishing and sightseeing. The
wave was believed to be as high as 16 feet, and may have been
caused by regular tidal movements in the Yellow Sea.
The official says people who had been reported missing earlier
in the day have been accounted for. Search operations are
continuing as a precaution.
