The most important presidential primary in 20 years is underway in North Carolina today. The tight race between Illinois Senator Barack Obama and New York Senator Hillary Clinton has put the spotlight on North Carolina and Indiana today. Both Obama and Clinton were in the state yesterday and Obama plans to be in Raleigh tonight.

Clinton will be in Indiana, where she's expected to win. But her husband, former President Bill Clinton, is still campaigning in North Carolina today. Clinton is making stops in Huntersville, Lexington, Winston-Salem and Durham.

The Democratic presidential race has overshadowed the other contests in North Carolina. Republicans and Democrats are choosing candidates for the November contest to replace Governor Mike Easley. Democrats also are choosing a challenger for Republican U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole.

I am voting for Hillary. McCain I don't like because he will leave the troops in war for another 100 years. Not Good. Obama because he does not have the Experience to be president that is why I will not vote for him. SO America lets be smart and vote for Hillary Clinton. She is more Experienced. She will know that she is President to work for the People Not the Big Companies, and Mortgage Companies and we need that a hard worker who will care about us so all of us Americans will have Health Insurance not just the rich Americans. It is about time we get a President in office who will work for the People instead of just smiling like a stupid jerk and doing absolutely nothing while the United States goes down and down everyday. Go Hillary! We need a change and we need an Experienced President. Hillary for President come on America lets not let another Republican take office. America needs a complete Face lift and we need it done today. Hillary belongs in the White House. You go Girl!!!

Regardless of whom ever we vote for, we are most likely going to regret it anyways. I do have to agree that every candidate on the ballot are not worth the effort or the vote. Everyone of them have that drama tactic that is not healthy for our country - AS IF WE HAVENT HAD ENOUGH OF THAT IN THE PAST! This is the second time I have voted since Bill and Ross Pero went head to head. The one I voted for didn't stand a chance so luckily - I didnt shoot myself in the foot over it at the end. Those of you might talk your trash but we could surely use another Ronald Reagan in office. At least he didnt bring in drama or conflict when he was president. Since Reagan, that is all we have had is disappointments and conflicts that stirred up the American People. We need someone with a decent attitude once again to get this country back on its feet and Obama, Clinton, McCain or Paul are none to be who would suit that position. I am scared I will vote for one that I will regret later.

I meant to say they will hurt the country. But really the point is, all candidates should have received the same coverage no matter what. And people should learn to quit voting for the most likely and vote for who they want. The most likely candidates are our government at work. The least likely are the ones that actually care about our constitutional rights, etc. I would NOT ever vote just to vote. If I didn't see someone worth voting for I would not vote at all or write in a vote. It's that simple. When will people learn to speak up rather than go with the flow?

RPS I agree with you....the media decides our President...we just think we do!

Posted by: RPS on May 6, 2008 at 09:58 AM
To Shirley: I hate to tell you but Ron Paul would have the same support that Billary and Hussein have had the news covered him at all. He has much better plans than they do. Oh BTW he is a Republican, and MCCAIN is a joke. I'm starting to wonder about the supposed appeal they all have to since most the people I talk to don't even like the candidates up there. And to be honest I wouldn't vote at all if Ron Paul wasn't still on the ticket. Then I wouldn't want to shoot myself for the killer tax increases for health etc or rediculous tax cuts that they continuously impose rather than abolishing the income tax and instating the fair tax(Www.fairtax.org) that we will get from those top 3 losers. Ron Paul at least talks about helping people. The other 3 just come up with ideas that heart the country when you really think about their plans. The economy is bad but let's get a universal health care that's no better than anything else and add it to the income taxes. Idiots.

Posted by: Shirley Location: Greenville on May 6, 2008 at 09:45 AM
To RPS, let me get this straight, you want the news to cover a candidate that maybe appeals to 20 people in the area? Or on a national level, you want the networks to cover a candidate that appeals to less than 1% of voters/viewers? Quite frankly I'm tired of the Hillary/Obama saturation in the news, but at least they appeal to a lot of people. The Republicans have been left out in the cold since their candidate was decided long ago. So no press for them either, but you don't see them whining. Well, at least your voting, for a moron none the less, but at least you're exercising your right.

HILLARY 08

Posted by: AS Location: Greenville on May 6, 2008 at 09:31 AM
I totally agree with RPS. Ron Paul certainly did not get the coverage that he and our country deserves. I believe that this year we would ALL be better served to either vote for Ron Paul or write in NONE OF THE ABOVE if he isn't on your ballot. He is the only candidate that wasn't covered at every turn and I think it is because he has the best plans for the future of the USA!

OBAMA 08

Posted by: RPS on May 6, 2008 at 08:25 AM
It's nice to see the news picking who people are voting for as always. I will vote only to take away some votes from the three losers that they have in the lead for presidency. The news picked these people to win from the start. Everyone watches the news instead of researching ALL the candidates. And ALL the candidates were NOT covered by the news in this presidential race. Ron Paul should been covered. He was not. The government was so scared of the person that would take things away from their greedy little fingers, that they made sure the news people never covered him. I will vote Ron Paul even though he doesn't have a chance NOW. www.ronpaul2008.com for someone that actually CARES about what's wrong with the country.
