Wilmington scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning coming back to beat Kinston 4-3 Wednesday night at Historic Grainger Stadium. Kinston had a 3-2 lead going into the ninth inning when Jeff Bianchi hit a one-out single. Josh Johnson followed with another single one batter later. Wilmington tied the game on an Anthony Seratelli single scoring Bianchi. With the infield pulled in, Kinston was able to keep the game tied on a Jarrod Dyson grounder to short, which Kinston’s Carlos Rivero fired home to cut down Johnson. Seratelli advanced to third base on the play and scored on a wild pitch by Kinston closer Luis Perdomo. It was the first earned runs Perdomo had given up this season.

Kinston broke out the bats early with a third inning home run by Alex Castillo. Beau Mills helped Kinston extend the lead with RBI hits in the third and fourth innings. Mills went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Johnny Drennen went 4-for-5 with two runs scored on the night for Kinston. Perdomo (1-1) picked up the loss for Kinston, Greg Holland (3-2) notched the win for Wilmington. Holland pitched four plus innings of scoreless relief from the bullpen.

The K-Tribe tries to salvage a series split in game four of the series Thursday night at Grainger Stadium. Thirsty Thursday start time is 7pm, Carlton Smith will take the hill for Kinston.
