EPPICards are used by 15 states, including North Carolina, as a way to receive child support payments. Now the FBI says, card users are being targeted by scam artists.

Card users are getting emails and text messages that say there is a problem with your EPPICard account. The victim is then given a website link to go to in order to update their account or correct the problem. That website is a scam artist's set up where they can steal your account information.

The FBI says EPPICard users are also being lured to take a survey and then enter their account information at the conclusion, as a means of crediting their account for their time. The FBI says this is also a way for scam artists to steal your identity.
