It's a new twist on the economic stimulus check scams.

Lisa Decker Johnson of Greene County forwarded us an email that, at first, appeared to be from the IRS. The email says you qualify to get an economic stimulus check, but you need to fill out a form to get it.

The email has the IRS logo, what appears to be an IRS return email address, and a sense of urgency. Lisa got this email on Saturday and was told she needed to respond by Monday, or else her payment would be delayed.

The only thing the IRS says you needed to do to get your economic stimulus payment, if you qualified that is, is submit your tax return.

Here is the text from the email Lisa received:
Over 130 million Americans will receive refunds as
part of President Bush program to jumpstart the economy.

Our records indicate that you are qualified to receive the
2008 Economic Stimulus Refund.

The fastest and easiest way to receive your refund is by
direct deposit to your checking/savings account.

Please click on the link and fill out the form and submit
before May 05th, 2008 to ensure that your refund will be
processed as soon as possible.

Submitting your form on May 05th, 2008 or later means that
your refund will be delayed due to the volume of requests we
anticipate for the Economic Stimulus Refund.
