Clinton: Bush Comments "Offensive And Outrageous" Save Email Print

Hillary Rodham Clinton is standing up for her rival Barack Obama as comments from President Bush stir up controversy amid the pool of his potential successors.

Obama is accusing Bush of a "false political attack," after
the president warned against appeasing terrorists during a speech
in Israel.

The president said: "Some seem to believe that we should
negotiate with the terrorists and radicals," a move he calls a
"foolish delusion." The White House denies Bush was targeting
Obama.

Clinton says the comments were "offensive and outrageous," and
have "no place in any presidential address."

Obama's campaign took the comments as a criticism of his
position that as president he would be willing to meet with Iran's
leaders and those of other regimes the U.S. considers rogue.

So Brad....you attended this church over the past 20 years and know for certain that Wright's message for 20 years consisted of inflammatory comments against whites?? Being judgemental once again is not the christian way. You just like all the other Obama bashers are searching for an angle to prevent him from being elected. An indivdual's relationship with their pastor, in many cases, is a valued one. Much like that of a parent. A perfect example is the fact that my mother does not like white people because of things they have done to her. I did not follow her lead on that particular attitude because I have my own mind. That was just one facet of life that I did not agree with. Now in this case you are assuming that Obama agrees with Wright just because he (Wright) too may have had some encounter that makes him speak about whites in that way. My point, Brad, don't be judgemental and make assumptions because you want everyone to speak out against Obama.

Tired of it all & the rest, EVERY individual that I know attends a particular church and continues to go to the same church(especially if for 20 years)because they believe in what that church represents and stands for. If not, they find another church. The church obama attended for 20 years obviously believes in what wright preached, which without question(simply because it came directly from his mouth as everyone has seen) is at times antiwhite race and antiAmerican. ONLY until it was public did obama separate from wright because it flawed his image w/the white race and threatened his political hopes. Without question obama shared wright's views; that's why it upset wright so much when obama separated himself from wright. So when you do the math, obama & family do share the same views; which is much more than likely. The ones that don't see this are either extremely naive or too afraid to admit that he is not the individual they thought he was.

Hang in there Ted..I served 3 years combat in Vietnam and experienced the Yuppie revolution. The I hate America/crybaby generation, being educated by Liberal professors, will eventually turn this great nation into a Socialistic society. To Tired of it all...It is not the gay marriage that disturbs me. It is that the voters in California voted the amendment down; but 4 activist judges went against the will of the people. These are the type of "nitwits" Obama is supporting. 75% of Congress is made up of lawyers. No wonder nothing gets done. Freedom is not free....Wake up America!!!

I am tired of it all too. I am mostly tired of lack luster presidential candidates. In my opinion the only one of this weeks pick 3 that has done anything for our nation thus far is McCain. (referring to military) Is he the man for the job? I DON'T KNOW. Over the last 20 or so years NOBODY has impressed me much. Clinton spent 8 years in the white house already & if memory serves me correct she was "working on" the health plan then, geez. I would love to see some kick butt (edited by hope) public official, military service a plus, rise through the ranks. Someone with a proven record of righting wrongs at a state level somewhere. Someone that has maybe balanced a budget even. Definitely christian! As for gay marriage, government is too heavily entrenched in peoples personal lives and should be concentrating on other things. Governments decisions are about money & how to get more. If gays marry, they can file taxes together, draw survivor benefits, that sort of thing...

D.Dog and Ted are right on target. Too many people have short memories. The LEFT has totally forgotten 9-11. Americans are just too impatient. They want everything done right now. The political climate can be paralled with that of Viet Nam. There are so many similarities with 'Nam I can't even begin in this forum. Wake up! The consequences of failure in this effort are far more severe than most people can imagine.

Why are you people always searching for an angle to prevent someone from being elected? Bush supporters got him re-elected because they pushed the notion "Good Ole Dubya" Bush would not allow gay marriages and that J. Kerry would allow it. That is all I heard during that election. Now look....gay people can get married in this country....something that G. Bush wouldn't support??? Now Obama is the target because he is the most threatening figure to the "Good Ole Boy" network. You Conservative Christians (kinda of an oxymoron isn't it) wanna paint the picture that Obama is anti-American, anti-White. Where did you get that from? Just because his former pastor made comments makes Obama the same as him?? Not likely!! By the way, for those who are against gay marriages, who are we to judge if two men or two women wanna unite. Are we not supposed to avoid judging a person based on things that they do personally? They are the one accountable....not us!!!

Some people need to sharpen their grammar skills. As for Bush's comment, it's just another political tactic, and I'm not too surprised. It was amusing watching the guy on t.v. yesterday who doesn't even know what appeasement means {shakes head}.

To Anonymous..The Iraq War continued after 1991, as Sadam kept firing at our planes while patrolling airspace that was designated by the United Nations. Fire at our aircraft is an act of War....If the "Teflon" man banned handguns, only the criminals would have them. Doesn't he understand that criminals steal and use weapons. Why punish law abideing citizens?? It is time these lawyers quit protecting the "guilty". Please don't say lawyers have ethics either. Wake up America...

YES YES YES D'Dog!

Posted by: Brad Location: Greenville on May 16, 2008 at 02:02 PM
In 1996 obama indicated he was for a ban on all handguns. Can you say "hidden agenda"?

Posted by: Anonymous on May 16, 2008 at 01:59 PM
Ted. You are right a War was started on 9-11-01, but not with IRAQ!!!! And Bush did start that one!!!

Obama needs to forget foreign policy, and tell the American people how he is going to clean up the inner cities. Throwing 4 trillion dollars at the problem since 1964 has done nothing but create a "rats nest". He can start with LA, Flint Michigan, Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Baltimore,DC,and Cinncinati to name a few. Maybe he, and the Democratic mayors, can get on the same page. Drugs, prostitution, and murderers are defended by people (lawyers)of his ilk. If this problem isn't resolved quickly, the carrying of concealed weapons by law abiding citizens will be on the upswing. It is already happening in Georgia. We are rotting from within. Wake up America!!!

Posted by: Brad Location: Greenville on May 16, 2008 at 10:57 AM
The reasoning behind my choice this election will be a first for me. I will vote McCain NOT because he is the best choice but because it will be a vote against an antiwhite, antiAmerican obama.

Posted by: Devil Dog Location: New Bern on May 16, 2008 at 10:39 AM
To Ted...Right on. The war really started in 1979 when Jimmy Carter stuck a knife in the back of the Shah of Iran. In 1983, the Beirut bombing, by Hezbollah, was a follow-on. The Palestinian garbage is nothing more than "stirring the pot fodder" to distract Israel. I still predict Israel will ramp up operations and take care of Iran before the Presidential elections. The question is does this nation want a "green horned" lawyer to be the commander and chief? Having 20 years of military service, and smelling diesel fuel and dirt, my instinct tells me NO.... Just remember...without a strong defense you won't have to worry about our economy. Wake up America!!!!

Posted by: Ted Location: Greenville on May 16, 2008 at 09:48 AM
Bush's comments, regardless of who they may or may not have been directed towards are dead on. President Bush did not start this war. This war was started on Sept. 11, 2001 for those of you who have forgotten.

Posted by: Anonymous on May 16, 2008 at 09:01 AM
Well, Thats BUSH. Don't talk just start a WAR.

Slight Edit

Posted by: Devil Dog Location: New Bern on May 16, 2008 at 07:31 AM
The "I hate America/Blame America first" crowd are nothing but a bunch of wimpy crybabies and money hungry lawyers. Obama is a typical politician. All style and no content. He ain't seen nothing yet. Wake up America!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: John Location: Mount Olive on May 16, 2008 at 07:29 AM
Isn't that exactly what Obama said he was going to do; meet with our enemies!! I guess he's going to ask them to please don't bomb and terrorise out county. Guess what; the terrorist are not going to give Obama the same special treatment everyone this year has given him (If you speak negative of Obama, you're automatically labeled racist). I don't think labeling the terrorist as racist is going to have the same effect as it does on our idiot libels over here.

Posted by: Matt Location: Washington on May 16, 2008 at 06:43 AM
More media President bashing. (but that's ok). Also their best attempt to link Clinton and Osama in a good way.(the dream ticket). I see all angles and choose to think for myself. I believe there's a hidden agenda in stories like this one. Why is this even news worthy? Hmmmmm.....

Posted by: Anonymous on May 16, 2008 at 06:33 AM
I can't even say what I feel for Bush on here. I don't even pay any attention to ANYTHING he says.

Posted by: Mike Location: Edenton on May 16, 2008 at 05:55 AM
So what is wrong with Pres. Bush's statement? He is RIGHT! You CAN'T negotiate with terrorists and Islamofacists because they can't be trusted. It's like playing with a rattlesnake and turning your head! Anyone who thinks otherwise is either a fool or has their head where the sun don't shine.

What's Obama going to do if he is elected President and someone says something specifically about him? Cry?? Whine?? This guy is spineless.
