HUNTINGTON, W.Va (WSAZ)--A 65-year old Huntington man has been rescued after being trapped under a 600 pound lawn mower. Emergency crews were called to a wooded area just outside the Huntington city limits shortly before noon Wednesday.

Firefighters say the man and mower had gone over a hill into a wooded area. We’re told this was the first time he had used the industrial riding mower.

Firefighters used a wench on one the trucks to get the mower off.

The man was taken to a local hospital. No word on his condition.
.
In a press release, Cabell 911 says dispatchers used the newly installed “Automatic Vehicle Locator” program to guide responders to the man’s home.

They then used the center’s “Wireless Phase II” technology to establish his exact location based on his cell phone call to 911
