Your mail will cost you more money.

Today the cost of a first class postage stamp goes up a penny from 41 to 42 cents. But you can plan ahead by buying a "forever" stamp, which will be honored no matter what the future cost rises to.

Other cost increases include certified mail, which goes up a nickel to $2.70. First class international letters outside the U.S. go up four cents as well, to 94 cents.

I remember once upon a time when postage stamps and gas prices stayed pretty much the same for years without change. Now from one day to the next you never know what the price of either is going to be except that it is not going to be good. Postal stamp increase equal revenue generated for the government. Increase in gas = big profits to big oil companys and a cut of that goes to congressional members they lobbied or bought out to insure no bill is passed against them so big oil can continue to rape america.
