"WTF" License Plates Can Be Replaced Save Email Print

Thanks to some text message-savvy grandchildren, North Carolina drivers whose license plates have the potentially offensive "WTF" letter combination can replace the tags for free.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Tuesday the state
Division of Motor Vehicles has notified nearly 10,000 holders of
license plates with the letter combination. Officials learned last
year the common acronym stands for a vulgar phrase in e-mail and
cell phone text messages.

The DMV recently realized the same letters appeared on the
sample license plate on its own Web site. Officials are trying to
remove the plate from the site.

DMV officials got word of the plates last July when a
60-year-old technology teacher from Fayetteville complained about
the plate after her teenage grandchildren clued her in.

I want to replace my tag for the WTF, too. I think it is funny.

Quite honestly seeing what I have to choose from for presidency, I will NOT be voting. Neither one are fit to rule the country and I am ashamed of the people who voted for them. I am ashamed that people would not take the time and really learn what their fellow politicians are about and just go vote for whom they think will be good based on the majority votes. I am also ashamed that anyone would vote for someone who does not support the fair tax. (www.fairtax.org)

Hey anonymous you had better hurry up and get your ECUSUX plate before I do.

Posted by: Anonymous on Jun 29, 2008 at 05:19 PM
If you don't know why politics has evolved from the license plate you will probably vote Obama. Wake up NC, the liberals are coming. they are already in the state screening info so we will not know the truth. Hillary had gun shots and Obama went to church to mask his muslim being....run Forrest run!

Comment Edited.

Then take the cell phones away from them. Block the computers so they can't chat. Let them stay in the house all the time so they don't hear such things. Grandma, grow up. They aren't babies anymore....

I know there's a right to post comments but how bout staying "on topic" this about a license plate how in the world did it turn into a political discussion and sexual preference discussion. Any hoo back on topic we have made big news on their "weirdness" list wow what an accomplishment... Hope the person who started this is happy that she has made our state look stupid like we ain't got better things to do then change her license plate because her grandchildren has a dirty mouth and decided to inform her grandmother what those three letters mean online as if that has anything to do with a license plate. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25356069/

It's absolutely amazing how this went comments on an idiotic licence plate and some PC prude who was offended by it to a political forum. The First Amendment works!

Hey Middle ground they did it is called 911. In case you had not heard yet, they attached and destroyed our trade towers in NYC. No, they don't want us out of their country, they want us dead. You and me both brother.

Remove the Shackles, I could not have said it better myself. Again Anonymous is a prime example of Conservative Thinking. So Muslims will invade America just like the Vietnamese invaded America after the Vietnam War or the Koreans after the Korean War or Germans after WW2? Those people want us out of their country. We are going broke trying to win this unwinnable war. Just imagine what America could do with 12 billion dollars a month. Oh wait I know! Pay back China all the money we borrowed from them to wage this war. Wake up.

God has already said NO to gay marriage...He defines marriage, not popular culture...separation of church and state is meant to keep the state out of the Church not the other way around.

Slight edit

Posted by: Remove The Shackles Location: Greenville on Jun 27, 2008 at 02:20 PM
Anonymous, that sounds absolutely ridiculous. Not allowing gay marriage is government interference and control. Plain, simple, point blank, period. You can try to spin it, twist it, or do what ever Chris Matthews Politics 101 rhetoric that you want. The bottom line remains that not allowing gay marriage is a government interference and control. If Republicans truly want smaller government with less governmental interference in our daily lives, then they would want gay marriage to be a non-issue as in they can marry if they want to. As far as prayer in school, what is stopping a student from praying in his or her free time? To have an organized prayer would be more interference and control. To allow students to pray on their on if they so choose, that is less interference and less control. Students have some spare time each day. Sometimes it's between classes or at the beginning or end of a class or recess for youngsters. If they want to read the Bible or do whatever, fine.

Middle Ground, what is written on our coins and paper money has been there a little longer than 50 years. You are right, the fore fathers wanted seperation of church and state because they didn't want say Catholic taking over the country. They wanted freedom of all religions here and not domination. The left is the group pushing no drilling for oil, gay marriages, social heathcare for illiegal aliens and envionmental laws so stict that other countrys cannot use them. This is not conservative. If the school system has you tell your student the 10 comandments that is a positive step. But let one person complain about it that will be gone too. A moment of prayer in school doesn't distinguish a type of religion does it? Just wait until Obama pulls out of Iraq and the muslums take over the US. You will then know what prayer is...

Posted by: Remove The Shackles Location: Greenville on Jun 27, 2008 at 12:53 PM
Middle Ground, spoken like a Truth Sayer. Let the truth be known. I like the way you put that, conservative politics is different from conservative thinking. You have these conservative thinkers claiming to be conservative. Is limiting our rights of freedom of speech and privacy beyond the extent to which protects the safety of our citizens is conservative? No, those censorships and bannings are not conservative. Conservative would leave adults alone and let them do their own thing so long as they do not harm others. Please stop confusing being a conservative with being a tight wad with a stick stuck up your you know what. These politicians get on tv and claim to be conservative while at the same time trying to cram religion down your throat and trying to make you be a "goody goody." I don't want to be a goody goody. I want some nasty lovin'. Leave me the freak alone. I want a beer on Sunday BEFORE 12pm, leave me alone. No beer before 12 on Sunday? That's Constitutional?

Posted by: Middle Ground on Jun 27, 2008 at 12:31 PM
Remove the shackles is exactly right. It is a shame people rather listen to a talking box, than think for themseves. That is what is wrong with this country. We liked to be told what to think, instead of thinking for themselves.

Posted by: Middle Ground on Jun 27, 2008 at 12:29 PM
Ok Rusty, you say you are a teacher, but I am not sure how long ago you were in a classroom. I am required by this democratic left leaning state to teach....gasp...the 10 Commandments! How could this be? The 10 Commandments are included in the Development of Law section of the NCSCOS. I am glad you realize that their is no specific god when concerning "In God We Trust," but do some research and you will realize "In God We Trust" and "Under God" have only been apart of political speech for a little over 50 years. Actually our country was founded on many different aspects besides Christian ones. Yes Christianity did play a major role, but it was unavoidable, since Christian nations settled North America. But there is a reason, Franklin, Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, etc made it mandatory to keep religion separated from state(govt.)

Posted by: Middle Ground on Jun 27, 2008 at 12:17 PM
You say you are an ex-teacher, but you thought the 10 Commandments were in the Constitution? When did I say Liberals do not push political correctness? I did say taking religion out of schools (because it doesn't belong) is very conservative. See if you knew what actually makes a conservative, then you would understand exactly what I am saying. There is a difference between Conservative politics and Conservative thinking. You belong to the latter. An ideal conservative would follow the Constitution exactly as it reads. This is called Strict Interpretation. If the constitution says Separation of Church and State, then they abide by it. A Liberal would use Loose Interpretation. There is nothing liberal about taking religion out of schools. If you want your child to go to a Christian school, then enroll them into a Private school. You should take some political science classes, World History and US History classes. Might help if you form your own political identity.

hey i dont know what the conversation has turned to, but all i DO know is i WISH i had gotten one of THOSE plates, hahahhahaha!

Posted by: Rusty Location: Washington on Jun 27, 2008 at 08:35 AM
Something very simple for all of you to understand about the 10 commandments; The 10 basic rules transcends all religions including the Moslems. The only exception is atheist which is not a religion. The US is founded on Christian pricipals and is referenced "In god we trust" is just one such example. Didn't say what god, only that we are a reverant society. This is the US principals. Schools do not enforce any discipline (exteacher) and would dare not do so because if one parent complains, WTF, the system has to change to accomodate them. This is the liberal approach to everthing in this country. Middle ground, denial you can get help on. Use the internet.

Posted by: Middle Ground on Jun 27, 2008 at 01:01 AM
Rusty can you show me data that actually proves prayer in school equals high grades and good behavior? You can probably make claims that support your theory, but you can't prove it. Also, I teach Civics, so I am pretty familiar with the Constitution. The Ten Commandments cannot be found anywhere in the Constitution. You can find the Ten Amendments(Bill of Rights), which protect certain natural rights from the government. The First Amdendment protects a person's particular choice of religion. The Establishment Clause, which was written in by our Founding Fathers forbids the government establish a national religion or favor a particular religion over another. The 14th Amendment makes sure the Bill of Rights(including the Establisment Clause) are applied to each state. This means the states must enforce them! It has always been the law since 1791. Also the reason for more teen pregnacies is because the population has increased over the years combined with the abuse of welfare.

Posted by: Middle Ground on Jun 27, 2008 at 12:39 AM
Rick maybe you misunderstood what I said? I said I was for small government and lots of personal liberties. The government has no business influencing children with a particular religion. It is in the Constitution discussed on three occassions. There is nothing "liberal" about taking religion out of schools. In fact it is very conservative in nature. Placing religion in schools would be "liberal." Following the Constitution is what Conservatives are supposed to do, which many fail to do nowadays, along with liberals.

Posted by: Remove The Shackles Location: WTF Land on Jun 26, 2008 at 10:53 PM
Hey Rick. How ya doing? If the Republicans support smaller government with less involvement in people's lives, then why are they trying to control so much of people's private affairs? Bans on gay marriage, is that small government? Is that not interfering and controlling people's lives? Censorship? Looks like the Republican Party is getting bigger on big government. Some heavily Republican States want to ban sodomy in the privacy of your bedroom, whether married or not. Oh that is real small government right? Wire tapping, eavesdropping, all without a warrant? Who is against big government again? Ban on adult stores, adult clubs, etc. Yeah, they don't want to interfere alright. Shall I continue? I do not buy this Republican is for small government bit they try to sale us. They are for small government, yes, but only when it benefits them. Other times they are all for getting the governments arm as far up your you know what and controlling you like a puppet. No sodomy, huh?

Posted by: Rick Location: Greenville on Jun 26, 2008 at 09:51 PM
Hagar, that conspiracy theory about oil tycoons controlling the world is off. A majority of republicans and a small few democrats have tried and tried to get access to drilling in the US and off-shore but the democrat majority won't allow it.

You are so correct in your response! and how said is it that i could decipher HHIC and JA. JA was my personal favorite!

Posted by: Hagar Location: Greenville on Jun 26, 2008 at 07:26 PM
OMG what a crok. As powerful as the oil lobbies are, if the wanted to drill for oil on the Whitehouse lawn they would. It is not in their interest to supply enough oil to drop the price to 50 bucks a barrel when they can strangle the supply and get 150. We went into Iraq to stop hussein from dumping oil at 25 bucks. Bush and his oil company cronies have been planning this since the first oil embargo of 74. It is time the liberals & conservatives stopped calling each other names and ban together to vote out every incumbent at the state local and federal level. If we did this for 3 election cycles we would take back the country from the new world order

Posted by: Rick Location: Greenville on Jun 26, 2008 at 05:25 PM
That's right Rusty. The Dem run congress has done wonders for us over the past few years, riiiiight. Just wait until Obama gets in there. I can't wait to pay higher taxes and pay $8 a gallon for gas because Democrats won't let us drill in the US even though we have advanced technology to make it as painless as possible and have more oil here than in all of the Middle East. Linda, I only made those comments because some liberal, Remove the Shackles I believe was the name, said McCain would support this move with the WTF plate. Get it right people, Republicans support little government interference in our lives and Democrats support government involvement in everything. Including stopping the production of the WTF license plate because of one complaint.

Posted by: Rusty Location: Washington on Jun 26, 2008 at 03:15 PM
Linda, you need to open your eyes and take off the blinders. What Rick has asserted is correct. The dems control both houses of gov not Reps. Nancy and Reid call the shots for the agenda, not the pres. When Obama inflicts damage on the Oil Companies and raises your taxes will the gas lines open your eyes? Look at the Carter years...you want that back? NC is a dem run state and things like the WTF are political correctness by the dems. They don't want to offend anybody even when most of us don't care. Why, because it means nothing to most of us as shown on this board. Middle ground if we had prayer in school we probably wouldn't have 17 young unwed mothers in high school right now. There are many things not taught in home. So where are they supposed to learn the basics, the ten commandments are basic. You will find them in the constitution. Apparently, that isn't posted either, it might offend someone.

Posted by: linda Location: bath on Jun 26, 2008 at 02:40 PM
OMG this person need the grow up with all that wrong in the world today this is a non issue

Posted by: Rick Location: Greenville on Jun 26, 2008 at 02:28 PM
Middle Ground, do you believe these assertations by liberals that McCain would back this being that he's a republican. Since you're in the middle and objective, you must realize that actions like this are typically made by democrats, as in our democrat lead North Carolina government. I find myself more in the middle on things too but leaning towards the right. I don't like the higher taxes of democrats and I like the small federal governments of the republicans, like the conservative Supreme Court ruling today on gun laws in DC that would have only effected law abiding citizens had it been allowed to stand.

Posted by: Middle Ground on Jun 26, 2008 at 02:11 PM
God has no place in public schools. Sorry to sound mean, but it is the truth. Read the Constitution or pick up a history book and read about America during the 1950's. Try googling "Free Exercise Clause," "Establishment Clause," or even the 1st Amendment. The government did not add "God" in the Pledge or on currency until the 1950's and it wasn't for religious reasons. It was to gather support against the Soviet Union, which politicians labeled as an atheist nation. But other than that I agree tax payer's dollar should not be spent on this issue. Taxes are not a good thing, plain and simple. In college, I was about taxes, but once I arrived in the real world, I realized taxes are bad and the majority of politicans are lairs, who swindle our hard earn money away.

Posted by: Rusty Location: Washington on Jun 26, 2008 at 09:35 AM
I am the AHIC this week for my company since the JA is gone this week. Political correctness is such a liberal thing. I cannot believe this state is concerned about this menial letters. I have heard that some of us have too much time on our hands (TMTOH) but what about this teacher.....

Posted by: Richard Location: Winterville on Jun 26, 2008 at 08:59 AM
Hahaha, this is great! It's not offensive unless you know what the letters stand for, which most North Carolinians may not know. Only when the media shines a light on something small, then EVERYONE gets offended. I agree, it's three letters on a plate. Cry about it more, or be an adult and just deal with it.

Posted by: here Location: here on Jun 26, 2008 at 08:38 AM
So let me get this straight. The state is taking back license plates because of one three letter combination. I am sure there are hundreds if not thousands of other letter combinations that are currently on motor vehicles that you could easily come up with some other vulgar phrase. The letters WTF on a license plate are just that letters in the alphabet. GROW UP!

Posted by: kathy Location: williamston on Jun 26, 2008 at 08:34 AM
yet another example of "there's real problems in the world, and then there's this..." The woman who complained about this really does not need to be teaching anybody anything. How completely miniscule and small-minded can we yet get? It's downright scary.

Posted by: Why The Fuss Location: Geenville on Jun 26, 2008 at 08:19 AM
Absolutely rediculous. I'd like to know how many of the WTF plates are traded in. What a waste of tax dollars, time, and effort. If we all think hard enough, we can all come up with a vulgar saying to match just about any letter combination you can put together. Could WTF not stand for Wild Turkey Federation? Why the fuss?

Posted by: Elizabeth Location: Washington on Jun 26, 2008 at 01:00 AM
R U serious? HS!!! WTF is the world coming 2... LOL :)

Posted by: Optimistic Location: Greenville on Jun 26, 2008 at 12:34 AM
Maybe they can re sell them, I am sure there are buyers. They could put them on reserve and recoup some of the costs. I thought it was ironic that the plate is/was featured on the DMV site.

Posted by: Steve Location: Kinston on Jun 25, 2008 at 11:48 PM
Another non issue brought to the "attention" of the politically correct crowd. When are we going to get leaders who do not have the minds of children?

Posted by: Timmy Location: Aden on Jun 25, 2008 at 11:01 PM

rosebud, geather comment was proper and funny. And if you have to explain "WTF" to somebody , they're probably too old to understand it. Also, they don't need to worry about it.

Posted by: JB Location: Havelock on Jun 25, 2008 at 08:35 PM
WTF, It took me a few seconds to figure out what this might stand for in "texting" terms. Who did this offend and why or who even cares. Lets spend more tax money recalling and issuing new tags, why not, this world, country, local governments are more worried about the letters of the ABC's "texting terms that means a** backwards country' GREAT NOW WE CAN'T SAY THE ABC's, WTF!!!!!!!

Slightly Edited

Posted by: Rick Location: Greenville on Jun 25, 2008 at 08:32 PM
I think you Dems have it all wrong. This is a liberal thing. Your the ones who want to exert your big government to restrict others since one person is offended. Take GOD out of schools for the sake of a few, no more WTF license plates produced for the sake of a few. Go Obama!

Posted by: Remove Shackles Location: WTF Land on Jun 25, 2008 at 07:46 PM
McCain would support this. Probably would make it mandatory to have the WTF removed. Conservatives are fine. But it's those crazy way to the right Conservatives that get on my nerves because not only do they want to be conservative in their lives but they want to rule yours too. Okay, you pick who you want for a partner, don't go trying to tell everyone else who they can and cannot have as a partner. Talk about egotistical. How are you going to control other people like that? Has anyone else noticed this? How they interfere in the private matters of other's lives telling you what to do like they own you. Those on the far far left aren't much better either. They might make it mandatory that you have a WTF plate. Leave people alone and let them do their thing as long as it isn't hurting anyone who cares.

Posted by: T Location: Gville on Jun 25, 2008 at 07:40 PM
that's ridiculous I think that's a waste of tax payer's dollars to please a few uptight people that have problems with three letters of the alphabet. Heck you can turn a lot of letters into cursing are they going to change every license plate because someone claims it means something online. We aren't online we are in our car's sheesh... that's so silly when the DMV obviously did not use the three letters for that acronym they used it because it was the next three letters to give people unique plates. Someone I know has XYZ on their plates can they get new ones because that means their zipper is down? please ridiculous

Posted by: Michael Location: Greenville on Jun 25, 2008 at 06:46 PM
All those who have paused to give this much concern should get on a bicycle, or in a car, or on a boat, or a plane... and do something. Anything. Clearly you have time on your hands.

Posted by: Dave Location: Greenville on Jun 25, 2008 at 05:55 PM

At the risk of sounding stupid, what does it stand for?

Editor's Note: We can only share the first two words with you...."What the". It's used as slang in texting, e-mails, etc.

Posted by: Rusty Location: Washington on Jun 25, 2008 at 04:48 PM
Tim, you are right. The only difference is who is going to allow us to drill oil on our shores. Why, WTF, have you seen the price of gas at the pumps...Obama wants to go after big oil. All they will do is not supply. Gas lines for everybody again, twice in my lifetime. Carter did this and that is what happened. Lesser of the evils, yes, McCain will allow drilling of oil here. Obama says no. I guess the price of gas doesn't effect working people and the poor but it does, get it, they are struggling with a serious problem. But, the poor will vote for him for change...thats what they will have left in their pockets after a fill up but they do it all the time. Democrats, stay away from a bad future of liberal leftest. Let them go for now. When the come around to the people, go back. They are nothing but rich posing as we care, care less.

However if you are rich - GO MCCAIN or if you are a PROUD member of the entitlement pool - GO OBAMA. Those are the only two groups with a snowballs chance in you-know-where of getting help from our new Prez! Big Government....WTF!

Obama - McCain, Toe-may-toe - Toe-mah-toe, whats the difference? Once again we are going to be forced not to pick the right person for the job but the lesser of two evils. McCain will hand the country to the rich folks and Obama will give to those who sit on the front porch and drink their mama's kool-aid all day instead of going to work. If you are in the working class you are going to get the shaft either way with these two. I know, Obama promises change, McCain promises the same. Well, I could tell you I'm 6'3" and make Fabio look like Benji the dog but just because I said it - doesn't make it so. Look at their records; McCains stinks, and Obamas is worse (what little bit there is by Mr. Abstain) Obama has too little experience and McCain has too MUCH! I just pray we all survive until 2012 when perhaps we will have some more idiots to choose from besides the two we have this go-round.

Let's see: So far we have wasted money on replacing XXX and WTF. What's next? Anybody? Anybody?

Posted by: Rusty Location: Washington on Jun 25, 2008 at 03:04 PM
What I find amazing is that one person makes the comment and bang, its gone. I found it amazing that they took Ho Ho Ho out of Christmas because it might offend someone. Raleigh, can you work on things that will actually benefit the state and stop worrying about offending someone. WE can take it, trust me. I am sure the World Trade Fair and WTF Productions really do not care if you use there Abbreviations. OMG they must love it.

Hey if we can get a WTF plate exchanged for free, can I get a WTF tag for free?

Posted by: Hank Location: Austrailia on Jun 25, 2008 at 02:20 PM
WTF, mate?

WTF are they talkin about?

Posted by: Wayne T. Forbes Location: Greenville on Jun 25, 2008 at 01:45 PM
It was my happiest day ever when I received such a cool tag from DMV. I would have gladly paid extra for a wicked good tag like WTF.

It's sad that this world has come to the point of people using words like this just like a baby eating candy. To bad children don't know any better b/c the parents wouldn't take time to raise their children the way they should.

Posted by: Linda Location: Winterville on Jun 25, 2008 at 01:39 PM
Maybe it should be WTF (why the fuss)!!!

Posted by: James Location: Greenville on Jun 25, 2008 at 01:38 PM
WTF is the deal with wasting taxpayer dollars on stupid stuff.

Posted by: H Location: Greenville on Jun 25, 2008 at 01:26 PM
For those confused, go to www.urbandictionary.com and search for it. Though I too cannot figure out the 3769.

Political correctness at its finest. We can thank the libs for that as usual. The same group that doesn't want In God We Trust or prayer in schools. It might offend someone, somewhere at sometime. Raleigh is out of touch with reality and had some surplus tax money to get rid of. Remember this in November.

Posted by: Maybe on Jun 25, 2008 at 01:16 PM
Maybe it doesn't cost much after all. Maybe they trade them in for new ones and give the WTF license plates to all the kids coming in and asking for them! That would save some money.

Posted by: Jill Location: Greenville on Jun 25, 2008 at 01:10 PM
And if McCain gets elected people will cry and complain like they are now after 8 years of BUSH.

Posted by: Anonymous on Jun 25, 2008 at 12:57 PM
This is hilarious! I guess there's no better way to spend our tax money. Nevermind the millions already being spent to change the text color from blue to red, now they're replacing people that have "XXX" or "WTF" plates? Absolutely fabulous!

Posted by: Sheri Location: Washington on Jun 25, 2008 at 12:56 PM
Granted it's petty, but how many tax dollars are really going to be spent on this? It's not as though everyone is going to get their license plates replaced; only those who it really bothers, which I'm sure won't come up to very many who will take the time to do so.

Posted by: eric Location: gville on Jun 25, 2008 at 12:49 PM
omg, this is such a waste of $$. how much $$ will this state waste to appease ppl who didnt even have the fist notion of what it meant. As for the offended teacher no bonus for you this year they are spending it on replacing you license plate NOOB!! Does anyone know how much this is gonna cost the state?

Posted by: Devil Dog Location: New Bern on Jun 25, 2008 at 11:38 AM
That plate will represent what people will be saying if OBAMA gets elected.

Posted by: OMGLOLXOR!!!33T on Jun 25, 2008 at 10:29 AM
Are we paying for this? Our tax dollars to replace "WTF?" That makes me want to say WTF right now. WTF. Spend our tax dollars on something useful. Who is offended by the letters WTF? That person has bigger problems than the letter WTF. That person has something stuck up their you know what and should be more concerned about getting that out than getting WTF off of license plates. How uptight can you get? That's when you take conservative way too far. Conservatives way on the right and Liberals way on the left, both of them get on my nerves. Move closer to the normal and stop being so annoying about every little thing. That goes for both extreme lefty's and extreme righty's. To the typical citizen, you all are crazy.

Posted by: J Location: gville on Jun 25, 2008 at 08:53 AM
David, thats hilarious. we read license plates too and this really hasnt ever corssed my mind. i guess people really are petty. Id like to slam on brakes sometimes in Greenville and let people read my license plate up close if it said that.

Posted by: natalie Location: manteo on Jun 25, 2008 at 08:38 AM
I am with you David that is soooo funny LOL!

Posted by: lana Location: nc on Jun 25, 2008 at 07:54 AM
It couldn't have been all that offensive if it took this long for people to fuss about it. Now what....are they going to change any that have PP in them too????

Posted by: ??!?!?!?! Location: Martin County on Jun 25, 2008 at 12:45 AM
Oh please!!! What is this world coming to? To change all the plates and waste taxpayers money once again for somethung so petty.

Posted by: David Location: Manteo on Jun 25, 2008 at 12:29 AM
This is so funny! I have seen these plates numerous times and I fine them very amusing. My family and I have for years read plates of tourists as they pass through the Outer Banks and I have seen allot of them from various states with "WTF" on them. Now this makes me want to go get personalized plates with "WTF-EVA" on them....I would only dare someone to say something to me about it being offensive. I could then point to my license plate and pull away!! lol

Are you kidding me? If this offends someone, he/she might should be considered for having OCD.
