An assistant district attorney, an American Red Cross employee, a teacher--all who dare to bare some skin. That's what some Wayne County professional women are doing to raise money to help build a new animal shelter and education center.
We knew not to ask their ages, but it's safe to say more of these women are "north of 40", than south.
Some of the calendar women say they can't believe they even considered posing scantily clad, but the possibility of helping animals made it an easy choice.
The Humane Society committee and Wayne County commissioners agreed that the Humane Society would try and raise $150,000 to build the new center, and the calendar is just one of the projects they are using to raise the funds.
In just two weeks the calendar has made $3,000.
Susan Crenshaw, who owns a local health foods store, says her nerves were running high before the photoshoot.
"Yes I was very nervous, I did not need any coffee or caffein that morning. The photographers were all excellent and it was in such good spirit that I never felt nervous," Crenshaw told WITN News.
So are customers and the people of Wayne County reacting? Posers admit there's been a few frowns from family members, but for the most part reaction has been very positive since it's going toward a good cause.
