Since the start of May-- the IRS has sent out nearly 30 million economic stimulus payments totaling more than $27 billion dollars.

These checks have been issued to the vast majority of taxpayers directly to their accounts. We spoke a few folks on the street today, who say they've received their money and plan to spend it wisely.

While they had no problems with receiving their tax rebate money, about 1500 payments went into the wrong bank accounts.

The IRS says they discovered the problem and will send out paper checks in July to those taxpayers.

Alex, if your family member is in college then I wouldn't call him a parasite. Atleast he is going to college to try and do something with his/her life. I would consider that the true meaning of public assistance, helping someone that is actually doing something. Thats alot better than some of the ones who get help and don't do anything, just sit on their buts and collect benefits. College is an investment in the future. And even if someone does not work a paying job while they are attending it is still hard work. Most college professors will assign lots of homework, roughly 2 hours of homework for every hour that you are in the classroom and sometimes more. I commend this person. They may be on assistance while they are in school, but atleast in a few years they will have a degree and be able to support themselves! I wish it was a requirement for those getting help that they had to do something to help themselves.

How could the IRS let 1500 deposits go into the wrong accounts? No wonder I haven't I and others never received our checks. Now we have to wait for a paper check to get lost in the mail!!!

I have a family member on gov assistance. 2 kids both in private school, no job in community college. we are all paying his bills. He is upset that he isnt getting a check. i imagine there are a lot more of society's parasites just like him.

I posted a comment before, I guess somebody did not post it because I made a point about people need to start praying and having faith that their check will come and that we can not always depend on government and man nature things. It is still the truth. Be Blessed, don't worry your checks will come.

What a shame is right....If we made a mistake sending the IRS money they would pentalize us for not being on time...shouldn't the same apply to the IRS?

Posted by: Y Location: NC on May 19, 2008 at 10:55 AM
So what happened to the money already deposited in the wrong accounts?

Posted by: Blog Refuter Location: NC on May 18, 2008 at 09:31 PM
What a shame, what a shame... It's good that they'll get their money soon though.
