Students, parents and friends of seven South Carolina college students killed last year in a house fire at Ocean Isle Beach have dedicated a steel cross and stone marker in their memory.

The cross-shaped monument and memorial stone were dedicated
Friday. The marker lists each victim's name and the phrase
"friends together forever."

The monument sits at the base of the Odell Williamson Bridge, which links Ocean Isle Beach to the Brunswick County mainland.

Six students from the University of South Carolina and a Clemson
University student died in the Oct. 28 blaze. Six other USC
students survived the fire.
