Newspaper Files Motion To Unseal Eve Carson's Autopsy Report Save Email Print

The News & Observer of Raleigh has filed a motion to unseal the autopsy report for University of North Carolina student body president Eve Carson.

Orange County Superior Court Judge Allen Baddour will consider
the motion at a hearing May 21. He has temporarily sealed the
autopsy report, pending his review to determine whether releasing
it would compromise the ongoing investigation.

Judges have sealed almost every public record related to the
case. Last week, Baddour upheld the sealing of search warrants and
another unknown document after The Herald-Sun of Durham requested
their release.

The 22-year-old Athens, Ga. native was fatally shot March 5. The
autopsy report could likely show how many times Carson was shot and identify the weapon used. Two men have been charged in her death.

I agree with Rosebud. My Heart goes out to her family. Also the family of the UNCC student found last week.

I personally don't feel that it will negatively impact the investigation. However,I will respect Judge Baddour's decision, whatever it may be.

An autopsy report should be kept sealed. Everyone should consisder the family. Why would anyone except the authorties need to know this information? How sick has this world got?

Why?????????? Let them them finish this investigation. Don't do anything to mess it up. I'm scared to death these guys are going to get off on some stupid messup.

I hope they will strongly consider revealing the autopsy results.
