A woman who claimed she was raped has now been arrested for filing a false report.

Greenville police say Crystal Lynn Thompson lied when she filed a rape report back in April.

Police say they spent 45 man hours of investigative work and eventually found that no rape occurred. Thompson was released from jail on an unsecured bond.

I feel very sorry for Crystal family. For someone to put there family through this is very sad. I feel very sorry for her. I hope she learns from this and it makes her a better person. We do not need the Police having there time wasted on someone who is looking for attention when they could be helping out a real victim of a crime.

The Duke accuser had a history of mental illness. This is why they didn't proceed with a charge against her.

I agree that Crystal and the Duke Lacross girl should be convicted to the utmost of the law. That Duke Lacross woman RUINED three lives in her antics. She should be held responsible for that as well. Those boys have a hard row to hoe now becasue of her.

why arent they showing her picture???

EDITOR'S NOTE: We requested a mug shot of the woman from Greenville police. We never received it.

I think they should of used to name so all single guys would know not to get involved with her. I agree with punishing her by making her work with abused victims to see what its really like. Thats the upperhand women have on the law over men. But the Truth always comes to the light.

If Crystal was arrested then she has been charged. I also think that the supposed victim of the Duke case needs to be charged. People has to learn that they have a price to pay for lying and it is people like the two of them that it makes it hard for real victims to come forward and to be taken serious. I think that they had all rights to use her full name. If she had not lied then her name would have never hit the media so she only has herself to blame. I do not feel sorry for her at all because rape is not something to lie about.

I think this is horrible. No one should ever lie about anything like this, or get away without being charged.

Posted by: Anonymous on May 13, 2008 at 09:05 AM
It's because of women like here that actual rape victims dont come forward and report these crimes. She should be so ashamed of herself and she should be punished. She should be made to work with women that have actually been abused, just so she can see what all they have to go through to overcome this crime against them.

Will Crystal and the so called Duke victim ever be charged. Not likely.

Posted by: Anonymous on May 12, 2008 at 11:54 PM
There may have been more to it than what people realize. I don't think that it is fair that her name, if full, was released to the public, but that is just an opinion. I suppose everyone is subject to their own opinion.
