Latin Americans marched to the Beaufort County Commission steps in protest of comments made by a commissioner Monday.
Dozens of Latin Americans took to the streets to in an effort to show commissioners they're feelings about Commissioner Hood Richardson's remarks. Commissioner Richardson says he plans to use Spanish surnames to identify undocumented immigrants using county health services. Richardson's approach to detecting illegal immigrants has the Latin American community upset.
Commissioner Richardson says majority of illegal immigrants have Spanish surnames and he has no intentions on changing his approach to finding illegal immigrants.
