A man who authorities believed was with a missing Hertford County woman was arrested early this morning in Jacksonville, Florida.

Erin Outlaw was last seen March 31st, leaving with Gregory Jones. Outlaw, who is bipolar, has been without her medicine and family members are concerned for her safety.

Jones, wanted on breaking & entering and larceny charges in Hertford County, is now being held in a Florida jail awaiting a return to North Carolina.

There is no word whether the missing woman was found with Jones, and we're still waiting on return phone calls from Hertford County Sheriff Juan Vaughan.

Original Story

Hertford County authorities say they need your help in locating a woman with medical conditions who is now missing for over a week.

Family members say Erin Outlaw left home last Monday. Yesterday the sheriff's department listed the 23-year-old woman as missing.

Sheriff Juan Vaughan says while they don't believe Outlaw to be in danger, the man she reportedly is with is now wanted by authorities.

Gregory Jones was last seen with the woman on March 31st. Jones is wanted for breaking and entering and larceny.

Outlaw's family is also concerned about her medical condition. The woman is bipolar, and left home without her medication.

Outlaw is 5' 3" tall and weighs approximately 120 pounds. The woman has short, brown hair which is kept in a ponytail.

Anyone who has seen Erin Outlaw or Gregory Jones is urged to contact the Hertford County Sheriff's Office at 252-358-7800.

To wheres the news here, You are totally ridiculous. Whether grown or not grown she was missing. I guess you must not have family and if you do you must not care to much about them. So, if you had family especially daughter or sisters I guess the question is... What would you do? So before you get on here commenting think about what you would do if you were in this familys shoes. Erin has never done this before. So if this is all you can do is read the news and hurt other people with your nasty comments then dont read or listen to it..... If you do read or listen to it and you dont agree then keep you comments to yourself especially if you know that someone is hurting..

keep your hateful remarks to yoursrlf. you don't this family or you wouldn't have said that. if this was your brother or sister even your child you wouldn't want those kind or remarks. thanyou witn for all your help bringing Erin home.

Posted by: Where's the news here? on Apr 11, 2008 at 05:31 PM
Why is this a news story? A grown woman leaves with her boyfriend (whether he's good, bad, or indifferent)...What WITN...no fires or wrecks this week? Glad she's been "found" so that we can start getting REAL news.

EDITOR'S COMMENT: There are certain criteria needed in missing person cases for WITN to broadcast them This case met several, including the fact the missing woman had a medical condition and had left without her medication.

Let's all please try to remember that both families will need a moment to take this all in before being flooded with questions on why, how, no what and so on. The important thing is that both Erin and Greg are alive and well. Please respect the families for a bit of privacy for a moment. Thank you.

I do not know Greg or Erin, but this story has touched my heart! I would recommend putting more pictures up so that people, like me, can be on the lookout. My thoughts & prayers are with her family & friends. I hope to hear a happy ending to this sad story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry if I offended you Tonya. I honestly had no intentions of doing that. I was just putting myself in the place of a young girl who finds herself in love. Maybe she fears coming home because she knows what's in store for her boyfriend and she wants to remain loyal to him. That's all. When you're in love, sometimes you don't make the best of choices. But please do not think that I am in any way insinuating she's purposefully trying to avoid authorities. I really believe she's torn. Please know that I am deeply concerned for her welfare as well. I've known Erin for quite some time and she is such a sweet girl. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I simply do not understand the ignorance an audacity of some people. Why in the world would anyone think that Erin would post on this forum as opposed to call her family. What sense does that make? Erin knows beyond a shadow of a doubt we will not judge her, come home, open arms, no questions asked. As for aiding and abetting, she has no car, no money, and obviously doesnt have her own home to harbor a fugitive in so those charges would never happen. I had a 2 hour long meeting with the Sheriff today and he is working as hard as he can now, following every lead, doing everything the law allows to find her and find her we will...Actually Erin has the law enforcement community on her side...this I know to be true, regardless of what rumors run rampant and what people "think" they know. I would really appreciate it if those opinions could remain your private opinions, our family is suffering terribly.

Posted by: Concerned on Apr 10, 2008 at 07:55 PM
One thing Erin needs to bear in mind too is that the authorities could book her as well if she is found 'guilty' of aiding her boyfriend to avoid arrest. I'd hate to see such a sweet girl having a record for not turning his whereabouts in. Finally, as a side note, I find it possible that "realist" could be Erin. What does everyone else think?

Posted by: Aislinn Location: Winton on Apr 10, 2008 at 03:22 PM
Please come home Erin. You have family and friends that will help you get through this tough time. Please let someone know that you are alright.

Happy birthday to Erin&Erika. I fully agree with the message from concerned. If you know anything please tell someone. you don't have to tell who you are .I'm a mother of 2 and my heart goes out to Ms Sandra, Betty, Erika and Tonya. She has a very loving family. Greg please tell her to go home. If you really love her you shouldn't want her in any harms way. I know you are better then this. You a;so have friends that will help you. We care for you also.

Posted by: Concerned on Apr 10, 2008 at 09:25 AM
I'm not a detective but from the comments posted by "realist", I'd say he/she knows where Erin is, especially since the person affirmatively wrote, "Shes not missing so much as she is with her boyfriend. . ." If that be the case, I'd have to caution you about withholding info as to their whereabouts. That can be deemed by officials as conspiracy to aid a fugitive if authorities find you have done so. You need to do the right thing and call authorities.

Happy Birthday, Sweet Baby Girl! I love you, so much! Please come home. Let me know you're okay. Your mama's heart is broken.

Posted by: realist on Apr 10, 2008 at 12:22 AM
Shes not missing so much as she is with her boyfriend who is on the run from the law.My question is...when they do come back, will he still be welcomed by those concerned with food, shelter, open arms and "closed eyes"?...Well,that is.. once he gets out of prison.

We are praying for Tonya and her family. Please help them bring Erin home.Erin if you read this call home or call someone who will let them know you are ok. Tonya is very worried. We all love you.

I am praying that you guys find Erin. Will you please post more pictures of Erin and this male that she is supposed to be with? Maybe someone will see at least one of them. Thanks!!

Erin, may or may not want to be found, this we know may be the case. We also know that someone somewhere knows where they are, or knows who is hiding them out. That person, after seeing and hearing the pleas of a distraught mother, a twin who is facing a birthday alone this year and myself, wondering how I will ever live without my baby sister, should have the decency about themselves to pick up the phone and call to let us know she is okay, they themselves have major problems. Our concern is her welfare. We want to know she is okay, that she was warm last night, that she is eating properly. I have traveled up and down 95 to Baltimore Maryland, and I have seen how people on the run live...My sister is to good for that life, and I can never see her wanting to live in shelters, on the streets, etc. If you see her or know her whereabouts, please have the decency to call her mother and let her know how Erin is doing, you dont have to tell us where she is....just that she is okay...ILU ERIN

MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU GUYS! I HOPE THAT ERIN WILL RETURN SAFELY AND SOON.

Posted by: Charly Location: NC on Apr 9, 2008 at 08:08 AM
My thoughts and prayers are with the family for a speedy and happy reunion. I do have to wonder though, why it took the Sheriff's Department an entire week to list this woman as a missing person.

I have known this family for many many years and my heart is hurting for them right now. I have prayed everyday for them all. God Bless and I will continue to pray.

I dont think this is the proper venue for your comments, we are her family and we are hurting inside. I cant understand how you can be so cruel. If you have future comments like this they will be best kept to yourself. We dont need any added stress

I hope she is safe, I just hope that he hasnt hurt her for her families sake!

Erin, Please come home. I feel so numb inside. I HAVE to know you're okay! Please, at least, call me, if you can. I love you, so much. You're not only my baby; you're my friend. Without you, part of me is missing. Your mama loves you no matter what. This is a pain beyond measure.

Thoughts and Prayers are with all of Erin's family. This seems unreal to be affecting so many people so close to home. If anyone knows anything please don't be too scared or let your pride get in the way of helping Tonya and Erika find their sister.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family in this time of need I hope that you all can find her or that she will come home safe if I see anyone to fit that description I will be sure to call or if I hear anyone talk about her I will be sure to call I will be praying for you family through this time

Erin is my sister and we miss her terribly. She left home as any other day with her boyfriend to go play cards. They never returned. Myself, my sister (Erins Twin) Erika, my husband Greg, and my best friend Melanie have spent numerous hours looking for Erin. We have traveled as far as Maryland via I-95 passing out flyers with Erins picture, praying someone has or will see her. We even ended up in the Bowels of Baltimore searching homeless shelters, contacting the authorities, etc. We recieved information that she may have gone north, but that information hasnt been proven true. In the past week I probably havent been getting any more than 2-3 hours sleep a night. I am not giving up on her. I will search til time is no more. I love my sister, we all love her and want her back home. Her birthday will be on Thursday and for the first time, if we dont find Erin before then, Erika will spend it alone, the first in her life she hasnt spent it with the one person who has always been with her.
