The 9th annual Jacksonville Onslow Crimestoppers barbecue fundraiser kicked off Thursday.

Folks enjoyed delicious barbecue and all the fixings, at the Jacksonville Mall. The money made from each meal, will end up as reward money for callers that give anonymous tips to help crimestoppers. Last year the barbecue fundraiser reeled in about 8 thousand bucks.

In eight years, the Jacksonville Onslow Crimestoppers has received more than 1,990 tips, leading to over 270 arrests and apprehensions.
