One woman is dead and two women are wounded in what the Monroe police chief says was a "suicide pact gone awry."

Police Chief Debra Duncan said she found 45-year-old Deborah
McCord Gibson dead in a bedroom of a home about 4:30 p.m.
Wednesday.

The Charlotte Observer reported Gibson's daughter, 23-year-old
Jennifer McCord, was found in the garage with a gunshot wound. She
and the third shooting victim, 26-year-old Linda Maples, were taken to Carolinas Medical Center-Union at Monroe. They are in good condition.

Duncan says one of the survivors described the shooting as a suicide pact.

Police say the women agreed to shoot each other.

Duncan says one pistol was used and no one shot herself. No one
else was in the home.

If I were a young women today just starting out in life I would choose NOT to have children....not the way the world is today....NOT because I don't love children but because I wouldn't want them to grow up in the messed up world we are living in today.

I have to agree things are getting crazier by the minute. Sometimes it is hard to beleive some of the things that you read. It is like the world has gone mad. I'm trily concerned for my children and what this world is going to be like for them. Especially in a society that has turned to guns and are able to get them so easily. It is coming to the point you are scared to send your children to school or even go shopping, because you don't know if you are going to comehome alive. I is obvious these three women were in need of some kind of mental help.

So if you shoot one another and not yourself, technically it is not suicide-- it's murder.
