CALDWELL COUNTY, NC -- Investigators say a man has been charged with child abuse in Caldwell County for circumcising his two infant sons with a utility knife.

Authorities said 32-year-old Johnny Eric Marlowe fathered children with his legal wife and another woman who live in their home. One gave birth to a boy at their home in the rural Kings Creek community in November 2005, and the other gave birth to a boy there four months later.

Caldwell County Sheriff's Detective Shelly Hartley said Marlowe denied the women prenatal care in both cases and circumcised the boys when they were 8 days old.

Marlowe later moved to Gaston County and is serving a 150-day jail sentence there on charges of resisting a public officer, assault on a female and multiple counts of child neglect.

Marlowe had a total of 11 children with the two women.

NC LAWS NEEDS SERIOUS ADJUSTMENTS. THE DISGUSTING PEOPLE GETS TO WALK AWAY W/ CRIMES B/C THE STATE ALLOWS THEM TO WALK AWAY W/ LITTLE TO NO JUSTICE AT ALL. WHAT IF THIS HAPPENED TO ONE OF NC LAWMAKERS, WOULD THIS CHANGE A DECISION TO HELP PROTECT THE INNOCENT MORE THAN THEY GET PROTECTED NOW. ITS POLITICALLY DISGUSTING ALL THE WAY AROUND. GOOD LUCK TO OUR CHILDREN AND FOR THE WOMEN WHO CARE.

This is what happens when one tries to live by the laws of the Old Testament! Circumcision days are over and done with. One is neither justified by circumcision or by uncircumcision. It is a shame that innocent children can be mistreated in such a way as this and get off that easily. It is sad to think that the law cares no more about the well being of a child than this. Moreover, I feel godly anger toward the women who would allow a man to do such a thing. I hope and pray that the children have recovered. We are justified by faith and not by works of the law!!!

I think that the court system should do the same thing to him and see how he looks it.Then put him jail and throw away key.Because 150 days just isn't justice for what he done.

A bad check gets you more time than this. These people in jail have it made. Sit back and have nothing to worry about, and my butttt is out here working my tail off , for what to give them free meals, and bed , ac, heat, and a gym, I dont even have a gym. What are these Judges thinking. I think hard floor, piece of bread once a day, give them a shovel and put them to work in shackles and chains. Dont everyone else?

This sentence is absurd.I agree that our court system (judges) need to start giving longer sentences for criminal activity. I mean, innocent people are victims and the criminals are getting off easy. Just like a dwi, in carteret county almost 90 percent of dwi's are dismissed. Basically a slap on the wrist and your free to go do it again putting lives in danger cause you didnt learn a lesson. I am sick of hearing about armed robberies and other violent crimes and when the scums get caught they get to go to jail and get three square meals a day, not to mention tv and gym, while myself and the rest of society pay for them. These prisoners are getting out of prison stronger than ever cause all they do is watch tv and lifet weights. Its time to stand up and make prison sentences harder and longer, maybe this way the criminals will think twice about robbing you knowing a harsh sentence and hard time awaits.

I saw a movie not long about about a man like this. Had many women living with him....allowed them no medical treatment. Abused the women. They all had several kids by him and were allowed no medical treatment. He abused the kids {even to cause death} when they were babies and as they got older sexualy abused them. I agree what was that judge thinking?.... 150 days? Car thieves get more time than that. Someone has to step in and protect these children.

150 days is all he got for what he did....it is Banjo Country (think Deliverance) all round here...even in the court room!

This man is pycho. The problem I have about this story is...this took place in 2005 the boys should be 3 or close to 3. What took place this time that cause him to be charged for something in 05? When they say child abuse is it something that recently happen or something in the past. I think the woman is crazier than the man.

I cant believe this man is serving only 150 days for these crimes. What is wrong with out justice system? Perhaps the judge that order him to serve only 150 days should have go through what the kids had to deal with than he would think differently about his light sentence.

I think someone should circumcise him!!! What is wrong with the people in this country. There should be harsher punishment in the USA not a free meal and a place to lay around all day and watch tv.....then when they get tired of that go to the basketball court and play basketball or go to the weight room and lift weights. Some punishment huh?

This is so sad! It makes you angry when you read stuff like this. What is wrong with this man. And what the **** is he having "2 wives" in the house just keeping them pregnant all the time. Do you think I'd be living in the house with a man who had another woman living there and was "messing" with both of us....I don't think so. Has he denied these women prenatal care with every child or just these last 2? And are these the only 2 babies he has circumsised? I can't believe somebody would actually be able to do this. There are so many sick people today.
