The East Carolina Heart Institute is set to open this fall and we have an inside look.
Construction continues on the 110-million dollar 8-story building.
When the building is finished this fall it will feature state of the art technology with 120 patient beds. The Heart Institute is also expected to be an economic generator employing over 500 people.
Cardiovascular health in eastern Carolina is among the worst in the country. The goal of the institute and research and education center is to change that.
While the institute is scheduled for completion this fall it isn't expected to open to patients until 2009.
