The East Carolina Women’s Basketball program earned some off-court honors this week as nine of the ten athletes from this past season were named to ECU’s Honor Roll. Overall, the team finished the year with a 3.27 cumulative GPA.

Shuanda Ashford, Tiahana Bowens, Lauren Cochran, Shana Franks, Kim Gay, Gabriela Husarova, Allison Spivey, LaCoya Terry, and Jasmine Young were all named to the honor roll, while Ashford, Franks, and Gay were also named to the Dean’s List.

“Words cannot express how proud I am of our team,” head coach Sharon Baldwin-Tener said. “It is truly phenomenal to have nine of our players to make ECU’s Honor Roll and of the nine, three to make ECU’s Dean’s list.”

The Lady Pirates will return eight letterwinners and will add six newcomers for the 2008-09 year.
