Thank you for taking the time to meet WITN's Doppler Dog!
Doppler is a mixed-breed dog the station adopted from the Pitt County Animal Shelter in February. She is two years old. Doppler is a very lovable, friendly
dog!

All the members of WITN's weather department are highly educated, and Doppler is no different! She is a proud graduate of an eight-week
"New Leash On Life"
program at Craven Correctional Institution. The program helps homeless dogs become more adoptable. It's good for both inmates and animals. The inmates perform a community service while teaching the dogs basic obedience, house training and how to be a good companion. Doppler graduated on April 21, 2006.
Drake Parker of Top Dog Academy in Greenville is helping Doppler make the transition from shelter to school to television star. Doppler knows several commands, like sit, down and stay. She's working with Top Dog to grow her bag of tricks. WITN staff members also receive training on how to properly give Doppler commands.
Doppler likes to visit, and she loves people! The meteorologists are her "station" parents. They accompany her to events, schools, community programs and other places across Eastern Carolina. They also take her on pet-friendly outings, as well as to their homes for well-deserved rests!
Doppler hopes to spread the word about responsible dog ownership and show what a joy it can be to adopt a pet from a shelter or
humane society. She looks forward to meeting all of you!

Like many of us, Rachael Ray enjoys spending time with her pup Isaboo. If you have a pet, have Mom or Dad send your pet’s picture to Doppler’s Scrapbook and we’ll post it online. Tell us about your dog, cat, turtle, hamster, or other best animal buddy. Be sure and include your name and the age of your pet.

Kids: You must be 18 or older to post pictures or mail on Doppler’s website, so be sure and have Mom and Dad help you when you send mail to Doppler. E-mail works best, and he’ll try to personally answer everyone.
