Ever since the first BMW automobiles rolled off the production lines in 1929 there's been a mystique attached to the owning and driving one. Today, BMW is one of the world's leading performance-luxury manufacturers of cars and motorcycles and the parent company of Mini and Rolls Royce. Tonight, Country Rover Tom Skinner reports, a big gathering of enthusiasts is coming to Eastern Carolina to share their common love of BMWs and raise money for a worthy cause.

The BMW OBX Cruz rally to raise money for Parkinsons research will take place the last weekend in April with stops in New Bern, Morehead City, Chocowinity and other communities.

Organizers Rich and Claire Broughton in New Bern will be glad to foward information about how to contribute to Parkinson's research at Duke. We know there are families throughout the region who have been touched by this disease. This is a great opportunity to help move much-needed research forward. You don't have to own a BMW to help out. I drive a Ford 500 -- maybe one day it will be a collector car, also. Fat chance. Give generously to fight Parkinson's, Ford, Chevy, Toyota, et al folks!
