Old family run general stores used to be scattered throughout Eastern Carolina. They were places where people shopped, caught up on community news...some even doubled as post offices. Most are gone today. But, Country Rover Tom Skinner found a general store which is now used as part museum, part family gathering place.

Just off highway 264 in Pactolus in Pitt County sits a piece of family history. Folks around here call it the Old Davenport Store. Paul Davenport says his great grandfather used to run this store and other businesses in the late 1800's.
