Can anyone tell us what all the construction activity is to the right of the bridge and on the roads leading north from what appears to be a parking lot in the foreground? Just routine maintainence?? Is fishing permitted in this canal from the bank?? What might one expect to catch??

my wife and i really enjoy going to the lake crabbing during the summer,we live in ayden nc it is 97 miles from home but we go several times each summer . i would like to see the lodge restored.

Enjoying checking in on good old Hyde County. I miss it, but enjoy the views from the Mattamuskeet lodge.
