Hear The Tigers Roar

I have to admit, I didn't think the Memphis Tigers were as good as their gaudy record might indicate.  I didn't think breezing through a weak C-USA schedule had them in the same league as the UNC's or UCLA's of the world.  I certainly bought into what the critics said of John Calipari's team.  That they couldn't shoot free-throws.  That their freestyle play on offense would break down.  That they would be the first of the #1 seeds to get knocked out.    Well, they're hitting their free-throws, scoring at will, and they're still kicking.  Not only are they still alive but they're a 2 point favorite to beat Kansas and win the National Championship while the power conference Tar Heels and Bruins will be watching on the tube.  C-USA is a long way away (if ever) from being considered among the elite conferences in the nation but a National Championship banner hanging in Memphis would make the conference much more appealing and that's reason enough for every ECU fan to be pulling for the Tigers Monday night.
